Louis Vuitton is giving its Tambour line a striking sibling.
The watchmaking leg of the French maison, helmed by Jean Arnault, has just unveiled the new Tambour Convergence Mirror Steel. The newest edition joins a lineup that made its debut back in 2025, with the Convergence being the first guichet watch fully crafted by LV’s La Fabrique du Temps.
This time around, Louis Vuitton chose to gussy up its Tambour Convergence in a proprietary hardened steel with a fully mirror-polished look. (The new model follows in the footsteps of the previous trio of launches in the family, such as a rose-gold iteration with exterior guillochage and a platinum model with snow-set diamonds.) And to up the watch’s resilience, LV put the 37 mm case through a patented treatment that ups its hardness factor by nearly six times. Combine that with the material purity of the steel (rated at 1130 Vickers), and Louis Vuitton says the Tambour Convergence Mirror Steel will maintain its unblemished shine for much longer than nearly every other polished metal timepiece out there, which is quite the remarkable claim. Overall, it will take LV artisans up to three times as long to craft the model’s case compared to the rose-gold variant.

A closer look at the new model.

Underneath that standout case, you’ll find the same movement that lives in the other Tambour Convergence models. The self-winding Cal. LFT MA01.01, the first time-only automatic movement to be entirely made by La Fabrique du Temps, offers up a 45-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz. You can catch a glimpse of it via the watch’s sapphire-crystal caseback, too. Moving over to the dial, LV has placed a dragging indication to show off the hours and minutes on rotating satin-brushed discs, housed within an arched aperture. As for the strap, the model comes equipped with a gray saffiano calf leather iteration, complete with beige calf leather lining.
Louis Vuitton’s watchmaking arm has certainly been busy. The house unveiled five new Tambour Spin Times in September, each done up in a colorful hue. The new collection will also be part of LV’s permanent watch lineup—as well as the Tambour Convergence Mirror Steel, which is priced at around $43,000.
