Aphex Twin’s long-out-of-print 2001 double album Drukqs is coming back to vinyl, as well as CD and cassette, Warp announced this morning. The 30-track LP is set for release on all formats on October 30, meaning Aphex Twin’s full catalog is now in print. No bonus material has been added, though a direct-to-consumer 4xLP edition comes with a six-panel poster and AFX logo stencil.
Drukqs heralded the end of a half-decade pause in full-length output from Aphex Twin after the 1996 landmark Richard D. James Album. Initially met with a mixed reception, the record was framed in several reviews as a hard-drive clearout but has somewhat grown in stature in the intervening years, thanks in part to the winding-down of the alias—James’ only subsequent studio album as Aphex Twin, so far, is 2014’s Syro—and also to sleeper hits like “QKThr,” which has entered the Aphex canon via TikTok.
