Prosecutors Seek Arrest Warrant After Kyle Rittenhouse Is Accused Of Violating His Bond (Update)

Kyle Rittenhouse, the teen who shot three people, killing two, is currently out on bond, but that could change.

On Wednesday, prosecutors requested a new arrest warrant for Rittenhouse and a bond increase of $200,000. According to reports, Rittenhouse moved but didn’t inform the courts.

“Kyle Rittenhouse failed to inform the court of his change of address within 48 hours of moving, Kenosha County prosecutors alleged in a motion filed with Judge Bruce Schroeder. The motion asks Schroeder to issue an arrest warrant and increase Rittenhouse’s bail by $200,000,” WLBT reports.

Mark Richards, Rittenhouse’s attorney, stated that death threats have driven Rittenhouse into an “undisclosed Safe House.” Richards also alleges he offered to give authorities the new information in November of 2020 but they refused to keep Rittenhouse’s whereabouts anonymous, according to reports.

Richards also says he has been in constant contact with Rittenhouse. Last month, the teen was spotted at a bar with his parents, wearing a shirt that read, “Free as F**k.”

The police say they looked into it and learned Rittenhouse was at Pudgy’s Pub on the afternoon of January 5th with a parent, and relayed the info to the Kenosha County DA’s Office. The following investigation determined he had not violated his agreement.

As previously reported, Rittenhouse was released from jail in November on $2 million bail. He is charged with killing two protesters and wounding a third during the civil unrest in Kenosha following the shooting of Jacob Blake.
