The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey Reveals First Look at Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen in Netflix Show

The mystery behind the death of JonBenét Ramsey is headed to the small screen.

Netflix revealed its first look at Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen playing JonBenét’s parents Patsy Ramsey and John Bennett Ramsey, respectively, in their upcoming series, The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey.

In the photo, the Oscar nominees can be seen sitting before a group of reporters, looking off into the distance. McCarthy and Owen are joined by Garrett Hedlund (Det. Steve Thomas), Alison Pill (Det. Linda Arndt) and Emily Mitchell as JonBenét in the series that explores the 6-year-old’s tragic death after her parents found her in the family’s basement on Dec. 26, 1996.

“Told from multiple angles, the series unravels the speculation and unresolved grief,” Netflix’s Tudum shared Sept. 15. “After a national media frenzy, nearly 30 years—and more than 21,016 tips, letters, and emails later—the killer has not been found.”

The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey is not the first time Netflix has covered JonBenét’s death, as it also released the docuseries Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey in 2024.
