From the size of the guest list to when they tied the knot, here’s what has been revealed from Tayvis’ big day.
When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement with a simple Instagram post in August 2025, it broke the internet.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple wrote in the caption, sharing photos from the proposal.
Eleven months later, the pair did just that, tying the knot with hundreds of guests in attendance. It was a massive event that clearly took a lot of time and effort to pull off, but that didn’t stop the pop star or football player from staying busy with their careers in the months leading up to the big day. Swift released her 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 album, The Life of a Showgirl, that October — moving a record-breaking 4 million equivalent album units in its first week — while Kelce signed on for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs the following April.
As the wedding drew closer, little was shared with the public about what it would entail. Members of the Tayvis camp made a point of keeping what they may or may not have known about the couple’s plans mostly quiet, with Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, straight up refusing to speak about her potential involvement with the wedding planning when approached by a photographer at LAX. “I’m just happy. I’m so happy for them,” she said at the time.
Swift’s now-sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce (who’s married to Trav’s big brother, Jason) even made a plea on her Not Gonna Lie podcast in April for people to stop asking her for wedding dirt. “Quit asking me and my mother-in-law about upcoming nuptials,” she said point-blank to the camera. “Nobody’s f–king telling you anything.” She added: “I don’t have any details. I have no details. I have none. Look at that. That’s how many details I have. None. None.”
But in the weeks immediately prior, more details of the couple’s plans began to emerge, and now that the day is in the books, even more info has come to light — and Billboard has been keeping track throughout it all. Keep reading to see everything we know about Swift and Kelce’s wedding below.

The date and location
Following weeks of reports that the Tayvis wedding would take place at some point over Fourth of July weekend in New York City, a law enforcement official confirmed to the Associated Press that the couple’s nuptials were scheduled for the night of Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden. The official also revealed that a rehearsal dinner was planned for the night prior.
The news aligned with what Kelce had previously said on a January 2025 episode of New Heights — months before he and Swift got engaged — while sharing his thoughts on fall weddings, which conflict with football season.
“I actually don’t know people who have gotten married in the fall,” the Chiefs star said. “All the weddings I’ve been to, and all my friends do it in the summer.”
Fans had also previously concluded that, if the couple wanted a summer wedding in 2026, they’d likely have to schedule it for some point in the first chunk of July. That was because Kelce had already announced in March that he would be returning to the Chiefs for a 14th season, in part motivated by his fiancee’s work ethic and passion for what she does. Then, ESPN’s Nate Taylorsaid that Kelce “plans to marry [Swift] before training camp,” which begins on July 22 — meaning the duo only had so much time to plan a wedding that didn’t conflict with Kelce’s football schedule.
After the couple officially tied the knot, the screens outside of MSG changed to display, “JUST&T MARRIED.”

The schedule
The Associated Press reported on July 2, a day before the wedding, that it had obtained a city permit that showed Swift and Kelce had permission to exchange vows at Madison Square Garden. It showed a 5 p.m. ET start time, with the document indicating that the event could last until 4 a.m. the next morning.
Thursday would feature a “pre-party” celebration with 100 guests kicking off at 6:30 p.m. ET, the permit also revealed, with officials telling the AP that it would be the rehearsal dinner.

The guest list was long
In an October 2025 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Swift joked that Norton “will know” after the host asked if the wedding will be happening in 2026. Swift went on to clarify that she meant she’ll be inviting Norton to the big event — as well as everyone she’s ever hung out with.
“I know it’s going to be fun to plan, because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble,” Swift explained. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not going to do that.”
She continued, “Anyone I’ve ever talked to.”
On the big day, it was reported that somewhere around 1,000 people were in attendance to watch Swift and Kelce say “I do.”

The privacy precautions
One way Swift and Kelce had been able to keep details about their big day under wraps — before it was confirmed that the location would be MSG — was by waiting until just before the wedding date to tell guests where exactly it would be, aside from somewhere in New York City. After confirming that they’d be in attendance, George and Claire Kittle were asked by Entertainment Tonight whether the occasion was actually scheduled for the arena, but the couple said that they couldn’t have confirmed it even if they’d wanted to.
“We don’t know,” Claire said, while George added: “I actually asked Travis last night, and he laughed at me. I’m half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on a runway, and they put us on a plane somewhere.”
It also appears that guests received custom watermarked invitations that would allow the pop star and Kelce to trace each one back to its original recipient, so as to avoid leaked information.

What guests weren’t allowed to bring
As revealed by George Kittle — Kelce’s Tight End University cofounder — Swift and the Grotesquerie star established a rule with wedding guests regarding something they’re not allowed to bring.
“They said absolutely no gifts,” the San Francisco 49ers tight end told ExtraTV in June, noting that he still might get his fellow NFL star a little something for the big day. “Travis for some reason likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin.”

The A-listers in attendance
In the days leading up to the wedding, people started spotting a number of Swift and Kelce’s famous friends in New York City, seemingly confirming some more of the guests who RSVP’d “Yes” to the big day. Among them were Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Aaron Dessner and Camila Cabello, according to Entertainment Weekly.
On the big day, everyone from Karlie Kloss to Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Maren Morris, Andrew Scott, Greta Gerwig, Kesha, Gigi Hadid, Dakota Johnson, Benson Boone, Ethan Hawke, Sombr and more stepped foot on the MSG grounds to celebrate the nuptials.

They wanted a live band
In a September episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast New Heights, guest host Jimmy Fallon asked Travis Kelce if he and Swift had started planning the big day.
“Are you gonna do DJ or band? Are you thinking about all this stuff?” the late night TV host inquired at the time.
Kelce responded with the couple’s preference, saying, “Yeah, I think we’re live music kind of people, you know?”
Plus, in an October Hits Radio interview, Swift also alluded that her close friend and collaborator Ed Sheeran might hit the stage during her wedding festivities.
“It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage, you know that you’ll be on it,” Swift said. “He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want.”
The couple also received an offer from Foreigner, who volunteered to play their wedding in an open letter.

Ceremony details
Shortly after the newlyweds exchanged vows, the confirmation of their nuptials came in the form of a statement from Swift’s rep, which also shared a few details of the wedding. Among them was that the couple’s friend Adam Sandler was the officiant, and that neither the singer nor football star had a wedding party. Instead, Swift’s brother Austin served as her man of honor, while Jason Kelce was Travis’ best man.
Wedding guest Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs coach, later revealed some marriage advice Sandler gave to the couple, sharing, “He said, ‘Kiss every chance you have, every day. Whether you’re going to bed or going to work or, you know, wherever, go ahead and kiss her.’ And I thought that was, in a simple way, in its simplest form, it really was touching.”
As for the Swift and Kelce’s wedding outfits, their looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture in collaboration with the couple, who both wore Christian Louboutin shoes. Swift glowed in Cartier jewelry.

The vows
According to wedding guests, the couple wrote their own vows in little books, and they were long. Two people also told NBC News that Swift’s included her singing, and that both she and Kelce shed tears while at the altar.
“You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional,” one person told the outlet.
Their vows were also “everything you would hope for — real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving,” GMA‘s George Stephanopoulos said in areport on ABC Newson the wedding.
AMC CEO Adam Aron, who was also a guest at the wedding celebration, described Swift and Kelce’s wedding vows as follows: “Long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families (Kelce’s and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new mutual life together.”

The wedding favors
Wedding guests were givencustom lace handkerchiefsembroidered with a “TT” monogram, the July 3, 2026 event date, its New York City location and the “Blank Space” lyric “So it’s gonna be forever…” stitched in cursive. Wedding guest and fellow singer Maren Morris shared a photo of hers on Instagram post-celebration.
Guests also got to enjoy food from Swift and Kelce’s favorite New York City restaurants and play various games to win raffle tickets, which then went toward prizes such as designer bags and a 1970s Chevrolet Chevelle, according to TODAY.

Musical performances
Swift and Kelce’s wedding featured surprise performances from several music legends.
Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts, who attended the ceremony alongside co-anchors George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan, confirmed that Stevie Nicks performed during the celebration. It remains unclear which songs she sang, or whether Swift joined her onstage, after the pair reportedly rehearsed together earlier in the day.
During the reception, Paul McCartney delivered a rare performance of The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There,” People reports. The performance marked the first time McCartney had played the song live since 1964, according to setlist.fm.
Actor-comedian Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony, also reportedly treated attendees to an original song that blended humor and heartfelt tributes to the newlyweds, TMZ reports.

Swift’s bouquet
Ashley Smith — the sister of Kelce’s teammate Trey Smith — revealed that she was the person who caught Swift’s flower arrangement during the traditional bouquet toss. “Somehow…I ended up catching Tay Tay’s bouquet,” she wrote. “So here’s to believing it’s bringing a lifetime of love, luck, and laughter my way.”
Ashley also shared photos of the bouquet, revealing it included sweet peas and Queen Anne’s lace.
