Brett Eldredge took to social media on Thursday night to share that he has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and must postpone his tour dates in Chicago, IL, which were originally scheduled for December 17 and 18. The shows, which are part of his Glow Live Tour, have been rescheduled for December 29 and 30, and fans who can’t make the new dates will be refunded.
“Today has been a really rough day,” Eldredge shared in a video on Instagram. “I was about to go to the airport to fly to Chicago and play my favorite show of the entire year, the Glow show in Chicago.”
“I’ve been feeling like I had a cold or something the last few days, and I decided to go check,” he continued. “I’ve checked a couple of times this week. I went to check one last time just to make sure it wasn’t COVID or something, and unfortunately, it turns out I have COVID, which really sucks.”
Although Eldredge expressed disappointment at the postponement, he says he’s looking forward to fans being his “date” at the new shows at the Chicago Theater. Eldredge’s comments were filled with fans and fellow country stars alike wishing him well. His former tour mate Morgan Evans wrote, “That is the worst!!! Rest up legend!!!” Brothers Osborne also commented, writing, “So sorry to hear brother. Hope it’s a quick recovery for ya.”
Eldredge kicked off his 2021 Glow Live Tour November 13 in Las Vegas before playing two shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on November 26 and 27. He also played back-to-back shows in Boston and New York City in December.
