The Uplifting Naomi Sky

What has been your most favorite compliment about your music?

Hearing that my music is uplifting to people is one of my favorite compliments so far!

Who do you make your music for?

My goal with my music is that it’s healing or helps inspire people on their own healing journey. So I guess that means I make music for everyone who needs some inspiration: the younger version of me who could’ve used some hope, anyone out there who is introspective and starting to open up to others, people who are learning to be more vulnerable, the people who are growing, anyone who needs some help believing in love, the people struggling with anxiety and craving peace, and anyone who loves music.

Talk to us about your latest track?

“Heart on My Sleeve” is all about opening up to the people I love, whether it’s a boyfriend, my family, or my friends. Vulnerability is such a strength, and it is something that inspires me, so I hope this song helps someone out there.

Where were you emotionally in your life when you created it?

I was struggling to open up to a guy that I was seeing at the time, and I was also struggling to be honest with myself. I had pushed myself to enter a new relationship, and I wanted to be vulnerable and feel safe sharing with this guy. But I wasn’t fully ready to do that yet. Creating this song helped me realize that and learn that people who love you really do want to help you or be there for you.

What studio experience could you relay to the artist early on in their career?

Every time you go into the studio, treat it like you’re entering a classroom. I learn something new every time I record with my producer. And don’t be afraid to ask questions! The producers I’ve worked with love talking about and sharing their knowledge with people who are interested, and understanding more about the technical part of recording can help you improve as a recording artist.

What is the next goal for you?

My next goal is to record one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve ever written. I’m really excited to share that one with my producer and you all.

When is your next single dropping? Can you tell us the name and what inspired it?

I’ll be sharing new music in the new year! I can’t share the name of it yet, but it’s a continuation of the love story I started to tell with my three released singles.
