Jason Aldean Mourns Death of His Security Guard

Jason Aldean took to social media this week to share the sad news that his security guard, Ryan Fleming, who went by the nickname Rhino, has passed away. In a lengthy post, Aldean shared that he first met Fleming when the man worked as a security guard at his “favorite” bar in Macon, GA. Fleming then went on to become a sheriff’s deputy before becoming one of Aldean’s traveling security guards. The post also revealed that Fleming was the guard who pulled Aldean off the stage when shooting began at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2017.

“When it came time for me to hire a security guy that I knew would always look out for me and my family, there was no question for me that person was Rhino,” wrote Aldean. “He came out and traveled the world with us and for years if u saw me, Rhino wasn’t too far away. He was the person who pulled me offstage during the Route 91 shooting and put his life in danger to take care of me and my crew. He was a good man and an even better friend. We will all miss you brother and thank you for having my back all these years.”

Alongside his heartfelt caption, Aldean shared photos of Rhino over the years. Many of Aldean’s fellow country music friends commented on the post to share stories and send their condolences. Luke Bryan recalled a funny memory that featured Fleming picking up a “whole camper” and Kane Brown recalled drinking on the bus with Fleming. Morgan Wallen was also among the country stars who sent their condolences, writing, “man, awful news. Sending love and prayers to y’all and his family.”

Aldean’s wife, Brittany, also posted a tribute to Rhino on her page featuring many photos and videos.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words,” wrote Brittany. “Rheen, my buddy. What a ride we were on… traveling the world, joking every step of the way. I will love and miss you forever. Thank you for protecting us. You are family, forever and always. Our hearts are broken. I know you’re up in heaven with your Mama and Poncho. Lord knows they’ve missed you. Till we meet again my friend. Love you so much.”

Aldean did not share Fleming’s cause of death.
