Safaree Clarifies Skin Bleaching Post Saying He Made It To Promote His Upcoming Skincare Line

Roomies, for about one week Safaree had some folks on the internet (and in his personal life) questioning his decisions! The artist and reality television star sometimes known for showing himself extra, extra love made an unusual post to Twitter on June 24, 2021. He said he had started his “skin bleaching process” alongside white praying hands emojis and gave no follow-up details! Well, looks like the mystery is now over because Safaree recently revealed he was actually trolling in the name of his upcoming skincare line!

And no, before the jokes land, skin bleaching products will not be a part of his collection. In a series of Instagram Stories, Safaree explained that he’d never subject his skin to harsh lightning products.

“Listen I just want to say that I would never, ever, ever in a million years bleach my skin,” Safaree said. “I only said that because I’m dropping a skincare line and pretty much it’s to enhance your already beautiful skin.

While Safaree’s methods might’ve drawn the promotion he aimed for, it wasn’t completely well received. Some fans critiqued the marketing plan given the history of advertisers and companies targeting Black people with skin bleaching products. As you may recall, Blac Chyna faced major backlash in 2018 for teaming up with a company to sell $250 lightening cream.

Dressed in a colorful, silk button-up, black sunglasses and multiple, blinging chains, Safaree spoke directly into the camera. He relieved any worries by internet strangers and close friends about saying goodbye to his chocolate skin tone!

“So that everybody who was hitting me up…people who I really know was really asking me about am I really going to bleach my skin,” Safaree said. “I would never ever yuh mad!”

Prior to posting his confession videos, Safaree showed a sneak peek at the upcoming line called Paradise. In the photo posted to his Instagram Story, the packaging on his products feature a gold, purple, white and black color scheme. Within the collection, interested buyers will find whipped body butter, a body scrub, facial oil, facial cleanser and facial clay mask. According to text added to the photo, the skincare line is all organic.

Roommates, would you be interested in trying Safaree’s skincare line?
