Kelsea Ballerini Earns Sixth Number One With ‘Hole In the Bottle’

Kelsea Ballerini has earned the sixth Number One single of her career, topping country radio’s Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart this week.

Released in May of 2020 and featuring a playful, twangy take the effects of a self-medicated breakup, the hit marks Ballerini’s first Number One since 2019, and was also recently RIAA Gold certified. Ballerini posted a note to Instagram recognizing the achievement and thanking fans — and also taking note of the track’s recent Shania Twain remix, which she called a “bucket list” moment.

“Two minutes and thirty-four seconds of witty, drunken escapism called ‘hole in the bottle’ is now officially the number one song in the country this week,” Ballerini wrote in the caption to a colorful photo, featuring the star sitting on top of a bar and sipping champagne through a straw. “A big and genuine thank you to my friends at country radio, @shaniatwain for a bucket list remix, my co-writers, and my entire team/fam. I hope this one has made you smile, dance around your kitchens, and take the edge off of a very odd and hard last few months. I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU. CHEERS.”

Kelsea Ballerini co-wrote “Hole In the Bottle” with Jesse Frasure, Hillary Lindsey, Ashley Gorley, and Steph Jones. It was released as the third single off of her 2020 studio album kelsea, and the Tennessee native followed up with a quarantine-produced ballerini companion album.”Hole In the Bottle” is her first chart topper since “Miss Me More,” and Ballerini’s new single, “Half of My Hometown” (featuring Kenny Chesney), is out now.
