The Nominations For The 2021 NAACP Image Awards Are Released!

It’s that time of year again when the nominations for the annual NACCP Image Awards are released. The award show is known for honoring those who continue to put on for our culture in various fields and genres. This year’s nominees for entertainer of the year include D-Nice, who held us down throughout the pandemic with his “Club Quarantine.” Regina King, making this her third consecutive nomination in the category, and finishing off the category is Viola Davis, Tyler Perry, and Trevor Noah.

Other categories include television, film, music, writing, directing, literary, and documentary. Shows such as “Insecure,” “Black-ish,” “This Is Us,” “Bridgerton,” “Power Book II: Ghost,” and many others are up for nominations. Artists, such as Beyoncé, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Jazmine Sullivan, and more have also been nominated as well.

Derrick Johnson, NAACP President, and CEO said, “We are excited to recognize and celebrate this year’s nominees, who at times throughout this unprecedented year have provided moments of levity, brought our communities together, and lifted our spirits through culture when we needed it the most.”

The 56th annual NAACP Image Awards air on BET on March 27th.
