Michael B. Jordan Says He Would Be Open To Returning For ‘Black Panther 2’ If Asked

There is no doubt that “Black Panther,” was definitely one of the biggest films in the Marvel universe when it dropped back in 2018. Following the passing of the franchise’s star, Chadwick Boseman, many fans haven’t given much thought about the film’s sequel as they continue to mourn. Nonetheless, the topic of who would return for the second film continues to be a hot topic.

During a recent interview with People, Michael B. Jordan spoke about his partnership with the International WELL Building Institute and its WELL Health-Safety Rating, and the question about returning for “Black Panther 2,” came about.

When asked if he would return to reprise his role as Erik “Killmonger” Stevens, he said, “That’s something that is very, very near and dear to my heart for a lot of obvious reasons. [I] had a really tough year losing somebody close to me. And what that means for that franchise is it was devastating.”

He continued, “But being in that world in a character that I loved playing, and working with [writer/director Ryan Coogler] and all that good stuff, it’s family. We created a family over there. So to be able to be in that world again is something that, I think, will always be on the table in some capacity.”

Fans of the film know that his character Killmonger died at the end of the film, so it would be interesting to see the storyline if he were to make a return in the sequel.

Michael also spoke about his other upcoming roles, including, his directorial debut for “Creed III.” As we previously reported, MJB’s co-star Tessa Thompson confirmed that he would be directing the upcoming film.

He also expressed his excitement for his roles in the upcoming project “Without Remorse,” and “Journal for Jordan.”
