Castagnola Heritage 9.9 Italian Chase Boat Fuses Wood and Carbon Fiber

Italian shipyard built Castagnola Yacht built the Heritage 9.9 chase boat using its patented Wood in Tech Skin (WTS) technique, which bonds wood with carbon fiber.
Among other benefits, WTS gives the hull incredible strength and rigidity while maintaining the look of a classic wooden hull.
Nauta Yachts designed the Heritage 9.9 for the third-generation owner of the Castagnola shipyard—Gabriele Maestri, who developed and patented WTS—to serve as a transport vessel that follows (or chases) a larger yacht. The boat can also serve as a short-range weekend cruiser.
With a deep V-shaped hull that enables the boat to plane and dual 320 hp Yanmar engines, the Heritage 9.9 has a top speed of 40 knots and a range of 170 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 30 knots.
