With Amir’s vast networks of artists and his clients, the name Amir’s and Company has a double meaning. Company refers not only to the corporation, but to the company as in the people. The ‘s in “Amir’s” includes his impressive network, associates, artists, clients, friends, his impeccable taste, personal style and the elegance he brings to his audience.
Friends and clients came to support the launch of Amir Shaygan’s new venture, Amir’s and Company, which showcases a Special Collection for exclusive New York clients. Amir’s and Company shares contemporary art, modern art, fine arts jewelry, and specialty items personally selected for investment.
Amir is an art dealer, consultant, and creative entrepreneur. As a profound lover of art and culture, he embarked on his journey to New York in 2017 from Tehran, Iran. His acting and modeling career, in Tehran, made him a public figure and media celebrity. His deep-rooted passion for the richness of diverse cultural scenes led him to the NY art world. His keen eye and exceptional taste in art have made him a beloved and trusted art dealer, relied upon for sophisticated art collections, auctions, trading, investments, and exhibitions. Amir established the strategic communication and PR management of MAXDI Art Gallery in Soho, which gave him the initial platform to incubate his stylish art consultancy. The company’s sales resulted in commercial success, merging art and design investment. He has mounted special exhibitions for his artists in esteemed art venues such as the Chase Contemporary, Salomon Arts Gallery, Art Miami, and Art Context. Many of us know, however, that Amir’s love for art and collecting was born out of the inspiration of his Iranian mother, whose passion and specialty was Persian fine rugs and tapestries. He represents only a select handful of contemporary artists to provide them with individual care and attention deserving of their talents.
The artists that were featured at Amir’s launch were Korean artists, Mina Cheon and her influences, Nam June Paik and Airan Kang. The curation context highlights Cheon’s political pop art with her influences of Paik and Kang reflecting the intergenerational relationships that contribute to an artist’s development. Cheon had the privilege to assist Pail on several projects in the ’90’s, while he was still alive, and she also learned directly from Kang at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul. The common thread of the three Korean artists’ work is found in the medium central to media art. Amir also showcased limited editions by Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol. He will have monthly shows to promote and share the work of several great artists.
Amir is also an Elite model who appears in editorial as well as film/TV when not devoting his time to the creative enterprise of Amir’s & Company. Amir is certainly a burgeoning talent, to keep an eye on, in the NY art scene.
