Denver Broncos Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Hospitalized Overnight For Head Injury – The Shade Room

Denver Broncos player Teddy Bridgewater experienced a scary moment during the Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Footage shows Teddy’s head slamming into the ground as a Bengals player tackled him from behind. When Teddy didn’t stand up immediately, trained professionals brought a stretcher unto the field. Later, the appropriate professionals transported the quarterback to a nearby hospital for better testing.

“Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater was taken to the hospital as a precaution for further evaluation of a head injury,” Denver Broncos Chief Communications Officer Patrick Smyth wrote on Twitter. “He has movement in all extremities.”

What Happened?

With about five minutes left in the third quarter, medics removed Teddy from the field. Members of the team stood near the quarterback until emergency personnel transported him. According to CNN, the quarterback ran past the line of scrimmage and dodged a few tackles. As he lept over a Bengals player aiming for his feet, another player tackled him as he already falling towards the ground. The final tackle is what caused Teddy’s head to crash into the field.

Hours later, a Broncos coach provided more information on Teddy’s status. Coach Vic Fangio took the time to update fans during a post-game conference. The Broncos’ official Twitter account shared the latest news with the fans.

“QB Teddy Bridgewater will stay at the hospital overnight for further evaluation, but so far everything has checked out well, per Coach [Vic] Fangio,” the Broncos’ official Twitter account wrote.

It’s unclear if Teddy is suffering from any symptoms associated with the blow. At this time, it’s also uncertain when and if he will return to the game for the remainder of the season.

NFL Career

Apparently, Teddy joined the Broncos in April of this year following a trade from the Carolina Panthers. The Minnesota Vikings initially drafted Teddy in 2014 as their 32nd overall pick. In addition to the Panthers, he has also played for the New Orleans Saints.
