Miranda Lambert Goes on Tractor Supply Shopping Spree for Shelter Pets

Country star Miranda Lambert played Santa Claus for a handful of Nashville-area animal shelters this month, going on a shopping spree at Tractor Supply Company and capturing it all on video.

A long-time advocate for shelter pets and adoption through her MuttNation non-profit, Lambert once again stepped up for lovable animals without a voice of their own — and Tractor Supply Company matched her step for step.

Visiting a TSC store in Franklin, Tennessee, on December 6, Lambert is seen on video loading up a whole train of shopping carts full of pet food, toys and supplies, then delivering them to three local shelters personally — while making time to snuggle some kittens and dogs along the way.

Those local shelters were Williamson County Animal Center, Metro Nashville Animal Care & Control and Nashville Humane Association, and after delivering the supplies, Lambert says she felt called to do what she could. “This time of year, it’s so important to remember shelter animals everywhere,” she says. “These three shelters have been important local partners to MuttNation over the past several years, and we all know how tough it’s been for them. I just wanted show my appreciation.”

Her appreciation was shared by Tractor Supply Company, who are also the exclusive retailer for Lambert’s MuttNation pet line and pet foods. The retailer pitched in $1,000 Tractor Supply gift cards for 10 more shelters around the nation, including Blind Dog Rescue Alliance (Boothwyn, PA), Deaf Dogs Rock (Salem VA), Gray Muzzle (Raleigh, NC), Heath’s Haven Rescue (Post Falls, ID), Muttville Senior Dog Rescue (San Francisco, CA), Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary (Mt. Juliet, TN), Pets With Disabilities (Frederick, MD), Rolling Dog Farm (Lancaster, NH), The Sanctuary For Senior Dogs (Cleveland, OH) and Vintage Paws (Sarasota, FL).

That should be enough to give a few animals in need a Merry Christmas, and in the clip, the “If I Was a Cowboy” singer reminds fans they can help, too.

“Y’all don’t forget about shelter pets and shelter workers during the holiday,” Lambert says. “A great activity to do as a family is always to volunteer at the shelter and help walk dogs. So it’s just a friendly reminder to love a shelter pet!”
