Chris Lane Is Ready to Move On in New Track ‘Stop Coming Over’

Chris Lane makes a clever romantic request in the new track, “Stop Coming Over,” dropping a swaying serenade with a witty theme on country fans today (December 10).

Although the title makes it sound like a breakup anthem, this new track is actually the exact opposite — as Lane plays a guy confessing he’s ready to start building a life with that special someone.

Written by Rocky Block, Jordan Dozzi and Brett Tyler, “Stop Coming Over” was produced by longtime Lane-collaborator Joey Moi, who has also guided studio projects by Florida Georgia Line, Morgan Wallen and others. Moi and Lane give the new song a heartwarming tone, mixing light country twang with an easy listening pop-rock breeze, but it’s the song’s story that steals the spotlight.

Lane starts out describing how much he loves the way his girlfriend has made space for herself at his place, with relatable lines about hairpins all over and a drawer full of beauty products in the bathroom. He’s ready to move on though, and spends the song’s hook asking her to stop coming over, and start coming “home.”

“Hey, what you say we decorate and slap some paint on these doors / Soon as I met you, knew I’d let you get to making it yours / We can drop that under the mat, get you a key of your own / And you’re gonna stop coming and start coming home,” goes the chorus.

“I’m so pumped to release ‘Stop Coming Over!’” Lane says of the song. “When I listened to this song for the first time and heard that hook, I knew I had to record it. It’s so catchy and the songwriting is so clever; I just loved everything about it. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this one and perform it live for y’all on the road!”

Mark the track as another family-focused anthem for the new dad, who’s also released tracks like fatherhood-tribute “Ain’t Even Met You Yet” and the chart-rising single “Fill Them Boots” this year. Lane and wife Lauren welcomed a baby boy named Dutton Walker in June, and the happy family have been sharing their life with fans all along.

Looking ahead, Lane embark on the Fill Them Boots Tour in January of 2022, with Tyler Rich, ERNEST and Lily Rose in support.
