Watch Kacey Musgraves Sing About Colors on ‘Sesame Street’

Country star Kacey Musgraves had a big-time hit with “Rainbow” back in 2019, sending out a heartfelt pick-me-up to those feeling the greyscale blues. But on this season of Sesame Street, her colorful streak gets brighter than ever.

Appearing on the 52nd season of the beloved children’s show (which has already premiered on Cartoonito on HBO Max), Musgraves helps kids embrace their natural love of colors. Joined by Elmo, Gabrielle, The Count, Big Bird and Abby Cadabby, the country star sings “All the Colors of the World,” sending out a message that sometimes, it’s ok not to choose.

With the soft sweetness of Musgraves voice, the Texas native encourages kids to use their imaginations and enjoy how colors make them feel — reminding viewers they can like more than one. The song’s simple lyrics are joined by a propulsive dance-pop beat, making for a charming treat.

“Elmo and his friends try to help Kacey Musgraves decide which is her favorite color, but realize there are so many colors in the world!” the clip’s description says. “They don’t need only one favorite color! Having all the colors is best and we can like them all the same!”

Musgraves stuck around for the whole episode, even hanging out with Elmo and checking out some dog “tricks.” You can watch the show on HBO Max now.

Meanwhile, the country star is celebrating another round of Grammy nominations, with her star-crossed album leading to two nods for the upcoming 2022 ceremony. She’s up for Best Solo Country Performance for “Camera Roll,” and Best Country Song for “Camera Roll” (which would go to songwriters Ian Fitchuk, Musgraves and Daniel Tashian). The 64th annual Grammy Awards will air on January 31 on CBS.
