Kodak Black Reportedly Honored With ‘Kodak Black Day’ Proclamation In Broward County

Roommates, it seems like Kodak Black can expect double celebrations on June 11th going forward. In addition to the date marking his birthday, the rapper will be celebrating his own holiday. According to reports by TMZ, Kodak has secured a day named after him in Broward County, Florida. So, if you live in the area, mark your future calendars because the county has officially declared June 11th as ‘Kodak Black Day’ via a proclamation.

Kodak was reportedly presented with the proclamation on his 24th birthday. Dale Holness, who serves as Broward County Commissioner, bestowed Kodak with the honor during a charity basketball tournament. The event took place in Coral Springs, a city within Broward County. In addition to being Kodak’s presentation site, the charity tournament itself raised $5,000 for the Lippman Youth Shelter, according to TMZ.

Kodak reportedly expressed great joy for the honor, including placing the accomplishment above his musical ones. TMZ reported that Kodak was “clearly moved” by the proclamation, while stating that it “means more to him than any platinum album.”

The framed proclamation document details a few of Kodak’s lengthy acts of charitable work. This includes gifting a years’ worth of basic items such as “diapers, underwear and socks to the Jack & Jill Children’s Center.”

Additionally, Kodak has contributed monetary donations to fuel the holidays for families. He provided funds so community groups could distribute 1,000 turkeys to people in need. He also tapped into his Christmas spirit and donated more than $20,000 to purchase toys and other items to be used as presents.

Kodak’s $100,000 contribution to the “families of fallen FBI agents” was also cited on the proclamation.

As you may already know, Kodak was granted a pardon from former president Donald Trump for federal gun charges. The pardon was executed during Donald’s last day in office, alongside a pardon for Lil Wayne. Kodak served about half of his 46-month sentence, according to TMZ.
