DMX’s Public Memorial To Be Held At The Barclays Center Next Weekend

As several balloon releases and memorials have been occurring across the U.S. in honor of the late DMX, many have been waiting to find out if they will be able to be a part of his official homegoing service. New information has been released, and it appears fans will be able to pay their respects to the late icon on April 24th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, according to DMX’s former manager Steve Rifkind, TMZ reports. As of now, the memorial logistics are still in the works, and there isn’t an exact number of how many people will be allowed inside the venue, nor how ticketing will be released.

Although the center has a capacity of 19,000, there will be a limited capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions. The news of the public homegoing service makes me think about the similar services held for the late Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant. As we previously reported, both men had public services at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, where fans and other celebrities could attend and pay their final respects. Many celebrated Nipsey and Kobe’s lives during the memorials by sharing memorable stories and performing musical tributes.

There has been no information on who would be performing, but I can’t see a homegoing without the Ruff Ryders family being in attendance. Swizz Beats, Drag-On, and others have already shared heartfelt messages on social media. Following the memorial, DMX’s family will be having an intimate funeral service for his close family and friends the following day, on April 25th, at a church in the NYC area.

Roommates, let’s continue to keep DMX’s loved ones and fans in our prayers at this time! Want updates directly in your text inbox? Hit us up at 917-722-8057 or https://my.community.com/theshaderoom
