Rev. Al Sharpton Files For Divorce From His Longtime Estranged Wife

Rev. Al Sharpton has been separated from his estranged wife for the past 17 years, but it looks like he’s finally ready to put things behind him and finally get a divorce.

According to TMZ, Al Sharpton and his wife Kathy Jordan separated back in 2004, and on Thursday, he officially submitted the divorce papers in New York City.

The couple met back in the 1970s while on tour with James Brown, and they married in 1980. They were together for 24 years before their split back in 2004. At the moment, it’s unclear if either will be seeking spousal support. The former couple share two adult daughters, Dominique and Ashley.

Back in 2015, Dominique Sharpton sued the city of New York for $5 million after she fell crossing the street on the corner of Broome and Broadway. At that time she claimed to had been “severely injured, bruised, and wounded,” after the fall.

Al Sharpton is currently dating Aisha McShaw, who he’s reportedly been dating since 2013.

At the moment Rev. Al Sharpton nor Kathy Jordan have publicly commented about his filing.
