Luke Bryan Reveals His Future on American Idol Is Uncertain

Luke Bryan Reacts to Meghan Trainor Wanting to Replace Katy Perry on ‘American Idol’

Who is headed to Hollywood?

Well, that seems to be the big question for the upcoming 23rd season of American Idol.

Amid ABC’s search to fill Katy Perry‘s vacant seat on the singing competition, Luke Bryan admitted he and Lionel Ritchie are still waiting to learn their fate from the Disney-owned network.

“It’s been interesting,” the country star told Billboard in an interview published July 1. “It’s been something Disney been really tightlipped about with me and Lionel and Ryan [Seacrest]. We currently haven’t heard what the story is on who’s coming back, and if Lionel and I are coming back. I think Disney is just trying to figure out what they want to do and we’re just kind of sitting back and waiting until they decide.”

If given the golden ticket to return, Luke will find himself  in excellent company on the judges panel.

“I think Pink has been in the talks, Miley Cyrus has been in the talks,” he revealed. “Meghan Trainor has been in the talks.”
