Kalki 2898 AD Mahabharata Cast: Who Played Krishna?

Kalki 2989 AD continues to captivate audiences and break box office records. The film shows no signs of slowing down as it managed to mint over $29 million in just four days of its release. While the sci-fi action thriller packs multiple thrilling sequences, some have managed to stand out. Fans have lauded the Mahabharata scenes. However, they have led to some confusion about the movie’s cast on the internet. The primary question is: Who played the role of Lord Krishna?

The reason behind this confusion is because the character of Lord Krishna is only shown as a dark silhouette in the Mahabharata scenes. In contrast, Prabhas is depicted as Karna, and Vijay Deverakonda as Arjuna. This silhouette image of Krishna has led fans to speculate that the role might have been played by either Mahesh Babu or Nani.

Who played Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD?

However, soon after the speculation sparked amongst fans, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian took to his official Instagram account to confirm that he played the role of Krishna in the film’s Mahabharata scenes. The actor shared that it was an absolute honor for him to be part of such an epic movie. He further added that he felt blessed to portray the Hindu god.

For those unaware, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian is an Indian actor and art director who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He made his debut in 2010 with the film Kadhalagi. Furthermore, he also worked in Putham Pudhu Kaalai, Soorarai Pottru, and Maaran.

Moreover, the credit for bringing the character of Lord Krishna to life does not go solely to him. This is because the voice for the character was provided by Tamil actor, Arjun Das. The depth in his dialogue delivery played a significant role in making the character more impactful, given that only a silhouette image of it was shown in Kalki 2898 AD’s Mahabharata sequence.
