Channing Tatum Said He And Jonah Hill Are Still On Board For “23 Jump Street” After Revealing The Script Is One Of “The Best” He’s Ever Read

Channing Tatum On 23 Jump Street With Jonah Hill

For context, 21 Jump Street came out in 2012 and starred Channing and Jonah as two undercover police officers sent to infiltrate a drug ring at a high school.

After the second movie’s success, 23 Jump Street was quickly greenlit by Sony in September 2014. A few months later, the Sony email hack revealed that the third movie looked set to be a crossover with the Men In Black franchise, also owned by Sony.

As we know, 23 Jump Street never saw the light of day. And now, a decade since it was greenlit, Channing has shared some hints about what could’ve been.

“There is a project that was written, and it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie,” the 44-year-old said in an interview with ComicBook published this week.

After revealing that he’d “been trying” to get the third movie off the ground, Channing emphasized that he’s still entirely on board with the prospect — and so’s Jonah.

“You know what, I’m going to put some good juju out there and I’m going to say I would love to see 23 Jump Street,” he told the outlet. “I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.”

Jonah has taken a step back from the public eye in recent years. In August 2022, the actor revealed that he’d no longer promote his movies to protect his mental health, and less than a year later, his ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady accused him of being emotionally abusive during their relationship.

Since his last movie appearance in 2023, Jonah has maintained a very low profile. He is set to return to directing with his upcoming comedy, Outcome, which will star Cameron Diaz, Keanu Reeves, and Matt Bomer.
