One Piece Fans Speculate Reason Behind Manga’s Hiatus As Chapter 1111 Release Date Nears

Following the release of Chapter 1111, it is reported that One Piece will be on a three-week break. However, with the plot entering the Final Saga and the recent developments in the Egghead Island Arc, fans are upset about this hiatus. However, the community speculates that the reason behind the extended break is the author’s health condition.

One Piece manga will go on a three-week break after Chapter 11

Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, will be on a three-week hiatus from April 1 to 15, 2024. This follows the release of a significant chapter in the Egghead Island story arc. This means Chapter 1112 will be released on April 22. Afterward, the series will enter another hiatus with the remainder of Weekly Shonen Jump in observance of Golden Week, a Japanese holiday.

This will be one of the most extended breaks taken by the author since June and July 2023. Back then, Oda was unavailable for four weeks straight due to eye surgery. As of now, the Wano Arc is complete, and One Piece is progressing towards the Final Saga at full pace.

One Piece fans have been vocal about their concerns regarding this hiatus. Although the creator himself has not confirmed the reason for this break, many speculate that it is related to the mangaka’s health. That said, fans are hoping that Oda is in sound health. He is known to overwork himself to keep updating the manga, so audiences have been considerate of his well-being.

Fans have taken to social media to pray for Oda’s health. After all, there is a reasonable probability that this hiatus might be because of something personal. Recently, the anime community faced the death of Akira Toriyama. This hiatus might be to honor his legacy. However, all these are nothing but speculation at this point.
