A Celestial Masterpiece: Exploring Omega’s Constellation Meteorite Collection

The allure of the stars has long captivated humanity, inspiring poets, artists, and watchmakers alike. Omega, the Swiss master watchmaker, continues its celestial-inspired collection streak with yet another special edition – this time with even more color and size options. At the heart of the Constellation Meteorite Collection lies a material as ancient as the cosmos itself—the Muonionalusta meteorite. Dating back over 4.5 billion years, with its naturally occurring patterns and unique characteristics, each slice of Muonionalusta meteorite becomes a canvas for Omega’s artistry, ensuring that every dial tells a story as ancient as time itself. With Omega, every watch becomes a singular masterpiece, reflecting the individual character of its wearer.

The collection consists of 20 different Constellation models, with five color treatments available to further elevate the celestial aesthetic of the meteorite dials. The options available are 25mm, 28mm, 29mm, and 41mm, with dials available in stainless steel or gold with diamonds. Whether you prefer the larger 41 mm Co-Axial Master Chronometer or the more delicate 25 mm selection, there’s a watch to suit every wrist and style.

The five smallest Omega Constellation Meteorite watches measure 25mm in diameter by 8.1mm thick with a lug-to-lug profile of 27.5mm. They come in stainless steel, 18k yellow gold, 18k Sedna gold, or two-tone variants, each with a different shade of gold. All models feature diamond-set bezels and meteorite dials with diamond hour markers, each with a different dial color. Powered by the Caliber 4061 quartz movement, these pieces offer a battery life of approximately 48 months.

Apart from featuring the same movement and metal options, the 28mm Omega Constellation Meteorite watches are larger versions of the 25mm models. Also powered by the Omega Cal. 4061 quartz movement, they feature diamond-set bezels and meteorite dials with diamond hour markers. Dial colors vary stainless steel (lavender), yellow gold (linen), Sedna gold (grey meteorite), yellow gold two-tone (green), and Sedna gold two-tone (blue).

The 29mm Omega Constellation Meteorite watches, while only a millimeter larger than their 28mm quartz counterparts and offered in the same five metal configurations, feature in-house Master Co-Axial automatic movements. Stainless steel and two-tone models use the Cal. 8700, while solid gold versions use the Cal. 8701. Both movements run at a frequency of 25,200vph (3.5 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 50 hours, but the Cal. 8701 features a balance bridge and rotor crafted from 18k Sedna gold. These watches are slightly longer, with a lug-to-lug profile of 31.2mm and a height of 12mm to accommodate the self-winding movements.

The 41mm Omega Constellation Meteorite watches stand out with their larger size and unique material options. Two models feature 18k yellow or Sedna gold cases, while the others are stainless steel. Each watch has a different bezel material, including gold, grade 5 titanium, black ceramic, or green ceramic. Unlike smaller models with diamond accents, these 41mm watches have classic baton indexes and signature Roman numerals on the bezels.

As for colors, the stainless steel model with a green ceramic bezel has a matching green dial, while the black ceramic bezel version has a standard grey meteorite dial. The stainless steel model with a titanium bezel is paired with a blue dial. The two solid gold models have meteorite dials matching their case color for a luxurious monochromatic look. Similar to the 29mm models, the 6 o’clock index is replaced by a date window featuring a trapezoid shape revealing a color-matched calendar disc.

Similar to the smaller automatic models, the 41mm Constellation Meteorite watches use two different movements. The Cal. 8900 powers the trio of stainless steel models, while the two solid gold versions feature the Cal. 8901 with a Sedna gold balance bridge and rotor. Both movements run at a frequency of 25,200vph (3.5 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Certified by METAS, they are resistant to magnetic fields exceeding 15,000 gauss. All twenty models come with the collection’s signature integrated flat-link bracelet and butterfly-style folding clasp.

The new Omega Constellation Meteorite watches span a wide price range. The 25mm stainless steel model is the least expensive, at $8,400 USD, while the two solid gold 41mm watches cost $42,400 USD each. Most models are crafted from solid gold or feature diamonds, with only five priced below five figures. The 41mm stainless steel models offer compelling options for collectors, priced at $9,300 for the version with a titanium bezel and $9,700 for those with ceramic bezels.
