Days before Rolling Loud Miami kicked off, organizers announced Kanye West would no longer be performing as the Friday headliner. Instead of Ye, the festival organizers booked Kid Cudi for the slot.
People gave mixed reactions online, especially given Ye and Cudi’s public spat in April. Still, Kid Cudi took the stage on Friday night, leaving early because the crowd repeatedly threw items at him. On Saturday, the festival issued a statement demanding respect.
“Rolling Loud is a family. Our fans, the artists and everyone involved need to look out for each other,” the statement said. “Share the love nad be respectful to everyone. We love you, Cudi. Please take care of each other and let’s have an amazing day 2!”
Kid Cudi Hit In The Face As The Crowd Threw Trash On Stage
Multiple videos surfaced overnight of Kid Cudi storming off stage, but not before warning the audience about their behavior. Not only did some people boo the artist as he graced the stage, but others took things further by throwing miscellaneous trash on stage. Finally, he warned the audience after an item smacked him in the face as he sang.
“Yo, I will walk off this stage if you all throw one more f***ing thing up here, I will leave, I will leave right now,” Kid Cudi told the crowd. “Throw one more f***ing thing on this stage and I’ll walk off, I’m not f***ing playing. I’m not f***ing playing. I’ll f***ing leave if I get hit with one more f***ing thing, if I see one more f***ing thing on this f***ing stage, I’m leaving. Don’t f**k with me.”
Seconds after his warning, someone in the crowd threw an item in his direction–slightly missing his head. As warned, Kid Cudi left the stage. Even as he walked away, people continued to throw trash on the platform.
As of Saturday evening, Cudi’s social platforms were still empty of any additional commentary about the incident.
