Oop! Get into this tea, Roommates! Chris Brown is under fire after he allegedly canceled his appearance at a Houston benefit concert that a local businesswoman spent $1.1 million to secure.
According to reports, Houston activist LeJuan Bailey is taking legal action against the ‘Warm Embrace’ singer after she says he failed to hold up his end of a deal they made. Bailey says her real estate and construction company booked Brown to appear in her Houston benefit concert on March 19 to help raise money for residents whose homes were damaged due to Hurricane Ida.
Unfortunately, Bailey is accusing Chris Brown of canceling his appearance just moments before he was set to perform. Bailey reportedly covered the fees Brown requested to perform, including a private plane, totaling $1.1 million. Bailey hosted a press conference to explain the situation.
I acted in good faith and sponsored this concert out of love and respect for residents in need. I am appalled that Chris Brown refused to refund my money for a show he did not appear to after we announced our show and sold tickets.”
Bailey explained that Chris Brown’s camp allegedly canceled his appearance during soundcheck for the show, which left her with “a lot of hardship.”
At this point, it is my humble belief that Chris Brown’s actions are parallel to pure theft. He has the unmitigated gall to take my money, stand up the residents of Houston, then return to the city to perform on August 17, 2022. My message to Chris Brown: We will not sit back and allow you to disrespect the victims of Hurricane Ida and Nicholas in need.”
LeJuan Bailey is requesting that Chris Brown and his camp return the money she spent on his accommodations, and claims his team has ignored her attempts to resolve the situation.
