Lady A Will Let Fans Pick the Set List on Request Line Tour

Country trio Lady A have announced plans for a new tour that offers fans a charming change of pace. Plotting 21 dates in theaters this fall, their Request Line Tour calls on fans themselves to become part of the innovative shows.

Turning large and often historic theaters into intimate, interactive venues, each concert will find the trio taking requests from their crowd in real time. An actual request line telephone number has been set up, and throughout each performance, fans can use it to request their favorite songs, “making no two shows the same.”

According to the band mates Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, they got the idea from their recent Las Vegas residency, which featured a similar audience-request segment. The new tour will kick off with back-to-back nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on August 13, and along for the ride is hit songwriter and contemporary Christian favorite Dave Barnes.

“We’ve been touring for over fifteen years and have played some of the biggest venues in the world, but there’s something truly special about being close to your audience and having the flexibility to include the fans in how the show goes,” Haywood explains. “During our Vegas residency our favorite moments allowed the three of us to talk with the fans and play what they wanted to hear. So we’re taking that spirit and making it a regular part of our shows this year.”

During the Request Line Tour fans can call 615-882-1975 and ask for their favorite Lady A songs to be added to the show’s set list. Presale tickets for Lady A’s fan club members become available Tuesday (4/19 at 10:00A Local Time) on each local venue’s ticketing system, with public sales starting next Friday (4/22 at 10:00A Local Time) at www.ladyamusic.com. Here’s a little preview of the trio’s plan:
