Bill Cosby’s Spokesperson Defends His Legacy By Calling The Upcoming Documentary ‘We Need To Talk About Cosby’ A “PR Hack”

When it comes to Bill Cosby, his team does everything to prevent his legacy from being tarnished. Currently, the team is working overtime ahead of a new four-part documentary, ‘We Need To Talk About Cosby,’ airing on January 30th. The documentary by stand-up comedian and TV host W. Kamau Bell, details the downfall of Bill. He was once portrayed as America’s Dad, in his role as Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, before his image was changed due to being exposed for alleged acts of sexual assault.

The documentary premiering on Showtime is what Bill’s spokesperson calls a “PR hack,” according to People in a statement made on Wednesday. “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. Mr. Cosby has spent more than 50 years standing with the excluded; made it possible for some to be included; standing with the disenfranchised, and standing with those women and men who were denied respectful work because of race and gender … within the expanses of the entertainment industries.”

The statement continues, “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. Mr. Cosby continues to be the target of numerous media that have, for too many years, distorted and omitted truths … intentionally. Despite media’s repetitive reports of allegations against Mr. Cosby, none have ever been proven in any court of law.” Bill’s court cases have been interesting to follow along. If you recall his 2018 case, Bill was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault after Andrea Constand said he had drugged her and sexually assaulted her in his Elkins Park, Pa., home in 2004. Ultimately Bill was sentenced to three to 10 years for the crime.

However, he maintains his innocence. His spokesperson called out the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court, adding, “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. In June 2021, the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court released Mr. Cosby, and the court’s Chief Justice defined the Pennsylvania Montgomery County District Attorney’s behavior as reprehensible.”

Roommates, do you think Bill Cosby’s image is under attack?
