Good news: The best mattress sales after Christmas 2021 are officially underway. The road to better sleep is paved with plenty of things (like a proper nighttime routine, for one) but primary among ’em should be selecting a comfy, supportive bed from the best of the selection available via the worldwide web. Because we’ve spent countless nights testing mattresses—and lately, plenty of days combing the mattress internet for deals—we’ve found the perfect combination of the two. Yes, a bunch of our favorite mattresses and top-rated cheap mattresses are available for less dinero than usual. That’s a boon for your aching back, groggy brain, and checking account. Below, you’ll find all the best mattress sales after Christmas 2021. Sweet dreams.
GQ staffers’ all-around favorite mattress is included in Helix’s extended Cyber Month (it’s a thing!) sale. In celebration of the holidays, Helix is offering a tiered promotion, where you can save up to $200 off depending on how much you’re shelling out. The Luxe Hybrid—plus a complimentary set of the company’s dream pillows—can be yours for $200 off with the code “CMSALE200″ at checkout.
Through the new year, Tuft and Needle is offering 20% off sitewide—including its Original mattress, one of the best we’ve tested in its price range.
Allswell isn’t offering discounts on any of its mattresses at the moment, but keep an eye out (or check back here) for any updates on the deals front. For people who prefer a firmer sleeping surface, the brand’s Brick mattress is ideal for back sleepers with just enough plushness to avoid the “sleeping on the floor” feeling—and with all the flotation a back sleeper needs to avoid feeling like they’re folding in half.
Casper is nearly always having some kind of sale, and this week is no exception. Right now, the brand is taking 15% off its mattresses and 10% off everything else with code “BXEC02-7890”. After our most recent round of 2021 testing, the Wave remains our pick for best supportive mattress.
The Awara Hybrid is one of the best supportive mattresses we’ve ever tested. The company makes relatively simple options, without the different sleep zones you’d find in something like the Casper Wave. The result is a mattress that’s a bit more cloud-like—“soft, yet sturdy,” said one tester. Awara’s Christmas promotion drops the price of a queen-sized mattress by $200 and sweetens the pot with $500 worth of other bedding gear. Plus, the company says they’ll plant 10 trees with every mattress purchased. Pretty good, all around!
One of our favorite mattress brands, Leesa, is offering 15% off select mattresses, with some bedding and cushion deals in the mix, too. We’d recommend either the best-of-both-worlds Hybrid Mattress, or the Leesa Original: our favorite plushy, supportive option in the $1,000 range.
Eight Sleep’s pod pro mattress just won a Fitness Award for its techy sleep advancements, which include the ability to track your sleep metrics (like your heart rate, respiratory rate, and movement). Oh, and it also gently jostles you awake with some gradual warming and vibrations, and offers heating capabilities that are isolated to each side of the bed (so you can sleep heated while your partner stays chills). Right now, the brand’s offering a healthy $250 off the Pod Pro.
Cocoon by Sealy’s chill hybrid mattress is made with hot sleepers in mind, featuring a stretch-knit cover that pulls away heat. (We’ve named it our favorite cooling mattress on the market.) For the holidays, the Cocoon Chill Hybrid is 35% off and comes with a free set of pillows and sheets.
Our tester gave DreamCloud’s mattresses top marks for its combination bouncy and supportive feel, especially if you want something with a super plush top. In addition to a $200 discount on the mattress, shopping the brand’s holiday sale will get you a free mattress protector, sheet set, and a pair of cooling pillows (worth $499).
The Avocado mattress comes with a sophisticated design compared to other “organic” mattresses. The mattress isn’t quite as supportive as something like the Casper Wave or Leesa Legend, but it provides plenty of density for more sleepers to rest comfortably. Through January 10th, you get $125 off all hybrid mattresses with the code “HOLIDAY,” and a whopping $550 off the organic latex mattress using the code “JOYFUL.” If you’re in the market for a new bed frame, there are also a couple promotions going on during the brand’s holiday sale.
Birch’s mattresses are designed and sold by Helix, but with a focus on using more natural materials. They’re great for anyone who wants a plush mattress made with somewhat more eco-friendly materials. Right now the company is offering the mattress for $400 less than usual in its extended Cyber Month sale with the code “CMSALE400.” Plus two free pillows!
Zinus has earned a status as one of the most reliable budget mattress brands out there, and right now you can score two of its best-sellers for even cheaper. The olive oil-infused hybrid foam option seen here is a mega 50% off.
For the holidays, Purple is offering 10% off sitewide, including its signature egg crate-style mattresses, along with pillows and seat cushions made from the same material. If you dig the feel of typical memory foam options, but want to sink in a tad less, you’ll like Purple’s selection.
Sadly, Parachute’s selection of top-notch home wares isn’t on sale at the moment, but if prior holiday seasons are any indication discounts are likely imminent. We haven’t had the chance to test the brand’s Eco Comfort mattress ourselves, but the reviews are great: it’s constructed with a sandwich of support, including a soft and gooey (so to speak) head and foot area for pressure point relief and a tough mid-section for added back support.
Layla Sleep is (mercifully) offering discounts without codes for its holiday sale. The company’s Hybrid mattress is $200 off, and comes with two free memory foam pillows. You can also catch some dreamy savings on other bedside accoutrements like Layla’s kapok and memory foam pillows as well as its bamboo bed sheets.
Bear’s another mattress brand we have’t gotten around to testing yet (they’re cropping up like mushrooms these days), but its best-selling Hybrid mattress is currently 25% off, along with nearly everything else on the site, in celebration of the holidays. The brand is also throwing in two of its cloud pillows and one sheet set to sweeten the deal.
Nectar Sleep is offering $100 off its mattresses and throwing in a handful of freebies (valued at $399) during its holiday sale—including a sheet set, mattress protector, and cooling pillow. Though we haven’t tested it ourselves, reviewers liken the brand’s cushy original memory foam mattress to a cloud. It’s probably best suited for lightweight sleepers who prefer a softer bed.
Here’s the good news: Japanese brand Airweave offers mattresses that are customizable, meaning instead of a fully assembled mattress you can choose how many layers you sleep on, how you want said layers arranged, and which side of each you sleep on—each side of the individual layers has a different firmness level. Since the mattresses are all buildable, they’re also easy to break down and pack up if you’re moving apartments anytime soon. Here’s the bad news: None of them are on sale…yet. But if you dig the idea of passing out on a mattress custom-made to your specification, keep your eyes peeled and a promotion is bound to pop up at some point soon.
Zoma’s four-layered mattresses are made specifically for athletes, and designed with “recovery” in mind. This might not actually mean very much to you, but it does give the brand cover to bestow each layer of the mattress with a wacky sneaker-tech-esque name. (Triangulex™, Reactiv™, SUPPORT+, etc.) Reviews of the mattress are generally positive, especially from side-sleepers who weigh less than 200 pounds. Both the company’s all-foam mattress and hybrid mattresses are $150 off and include a bundle of added value in the form of free pillows, sheets, and a comforter.
We haven’t tested Saatva’s hybrid mattresses ourselves, but reviews seem to indicate they have an extremely luxurious feel. The Classic mattress falls on the medium firm end of things with a thick top that you’ll sink into a good bit, making it preferable for front and side sleepers. Right now, the company is taking $200 off orders of $1,000 and more, with up to $450 in savings on the table depending on how much you spend.
We’ve never slept on a Nolah before, but this upgraded version of its basic mattress comes with options: One side is softer, for side- and front-sleepers; the other is firmer for back sleepers. It’s not like you’re going to flip your mattress regularly to take advantage—you’re probably one or the other. But the something-for-everyone concept means you’ll likely get what you need from the Nolah, and right now, you’ll get it for $300 cheaper than normal, no code needed. Otherwise, if you’re shopping around, look forward to up to $700 in savings on other models, plus discounts on bamboo sheets and bases.
Aviya’s mattresses are used by major hotel chains, and are known for being solidly middle-of-the-road plush and supportive hybrids. Now’s your chance to get one for yourself during the brand’s holiday sale, where you can score mattresses for $200 off—no code necessary.
As its name would suggest, PlushBed’s lineup of mattresses are satisfyingly…plush. They’re also made with organic materials, and crafted according to centuries-old methods of hand-stitching and hand-tufting. Right now, the brand is keeping up with the times by participating in a holiday sale packed with genuine steals: a wild $1,350 off its signature queen-sized mattress model, along with up to $549 in free bedding.
