Luke Bryan recently showed up to the aid of a mother who was stranded on the side of a Tennessee road. Courteney Potts was on her way to her parents’ home with her son when her tire blew out in Columbia, TN. She pulled over to the side of the road, and soon enough, country star Luke Bryan pulled up in his truck to help.
“He was like, ‘Hey I almost hit you! This is a really bad road, we’ve got to get out of this curve,’” Potts said of the encounter, according to WKRN. “I knew his voice, and I was like, ‘Okay this is happening!’”
Bryan was reportedly on his way to go hunting with his sons when he stopped to help. He used his own jack to change her tire and Potts snapped a photo with him after he was done. She also shared a short video from the event to TikTok, and it has received over 4 million views since being posted. The video included a text-to-voice caption that reads, “When my tire blew out in small town Tennessee who stopped to help? LUKE BRYAN. He deserves all the praise!” Potts also shared her thanks in another caption she wrote alongside the video.
“@LukeBryan I cannot thank him enough for stopping to help me and my babies!” she wrote.
@courtneypotts @LukeBryan I cannot thank him enough for stopping to help me and my babies!
“I would just tell him thank you so much for stopping, he didn’t have to do that,” Potts added, according to WKRN. “Him being from the South, he knows people would have stopped, but he chose to stop even when he was busy, and I am just so grateful to them.”
Bryan will be back on the road Thursday night (Oct. 28) in Brandon, MS with opening act Runaway June.
