Some of country’s most promising young stars are taking part in a special Grand Ole Opry-style showcase, with Opry NextStage Live In Concert set for November 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House.
The special event will feature Parker McCollum, Niko Moon, Hailey Whitters, Lainey Wilson and Priscilla Block — who are all part of the Opry’s 2021 “NextStage” development program — and it will be hosted by 2019 NextStage artist Tenille Townes. NextStage alum Travis Denning will also be on hand to perform, and it’s all meant to do one thing: Shine a light on a new generation of Opry stars.
“It is an honor to be a part of the Opry NextStage family, and I’m so excited for the opportunity to host and play at this event!” said Townes. “Feeling the support and belief from the Grand Ole Opry in the beginning of going after this dream is a pretty incredible thing. Stepping into that circle to play, you can’t help but feel inspired by all the footsteps who have come before and feeling the continuation of that legacy with everybody playing this show is a really cool thing to be a part of.”
Launched in 2019 with Townes, Denning, Riley Green and Tegan Marie as part of its inaugural class, Opry NextStage is an ongoing Grand-Ole-Opry initiative aimed at helping the “Next” generation of stars develop their career. The program does so with special performance opportunities like this one, plus behind-the-scenes support, documentary videos and more, and organizers say this year has been a particularly good one.
“We’ve been able to showcase incredible talent through Opry NextStage so far this year,” shared Opry’s Director of Artist Relations & Programming Strategy, Jordan Pettit. “Opry NextStage was created with the goal to invest in the next generation of Opry performers by sharing their music, stories and personalities with fans across our family of brands. We look forward to welcoming many of them back to the Opry stage to celebrate another successful year.”
Tickets for Opry NextStage Live In Concert start at $29 and are available for purchase at Opry.com.
