Legendary Producer Chucky Thompson Passes Away At The Age Of 53

Roommates, we are sending our deepest condolences to the family and friends of legendary producer Chucky Thompson, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 53.

According to Variety, news of his passing was shared by Young Guru on Monday, and the condolences from industry greats started to pour in after. Guru said, “There is nothing I can write that will take away this pain. I have to say RIP to my mentor, my big brother, the man who changed my life forever. You were the kindest person the world has ever seen. You were the most gifted musician I have ever been around. You treated me like family from day one.”

Chucky Thompson was known for producing hits for artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, Mary J Blige, Nas, Usher, and a list of others. He was also a part of Bad Boy’s “Hitmen,” which was the label’s in-house producing team during the 90s.

Diddy also spoke out about Chucky’s passing and said, “I’ve been in shock most of the day. Chucky Thompson was not just someone that I made Mary J Blige’s My Life with and a part of the legendary Hitmen, he was also one of the greatest humans that I’ve ever met. He always kept you laughing, always kept you smiling and he always let you know that he loved you.”

Mary J. Blige was another person speak out. She worked with Chucky on her “My Life” album and “Mary” album. He was also a part of her documentary, which celebrated the legacy of her “My Life,” album.

Variety notes that Chucky’s family nor reps have not confirmed his official cause of death.
