Exclusive Interview with Dina Renee

Exclusive Interview with Dina Renee

What’s your musical background?

I’ve been singing since I was about 3 years old. I grew up listening to pop in the 90’s. I think Mariah Carey and my older sister always inspired me the most when I was young.

How would you describe your style of music for a new audience?

I would say my biggest influences right now are Bebe rexha and dua lipa.

Was it ever frustrating practicing as you were building your skill?

I don’t think I ever found music to be frustrating to me; it’s always been a release. I definitely found reading sheet music for piano to be hard at times but now I play by ear.

What advice would you give an artist if they hit a challenge like this?

I would say keep going. I wish I did not quit piano as a kid. My teacher moved away and we kind of used that and also my parents not having money as a reason to stop taking lessons. But I am starting to take lessons again now.

What was your first single?

“All in Front of You”

What is your latest single out?

“Can’t Let You Go”.

What is the difference between the two?

One is much darker and I think just more of a dance track. There are people that still prefer the catchiness of “all in front of you” but I do hope I’ve evolved since then.

What are you looking forward to with an upcoming release?

I have been through the worst break up and I’m ready to channel that into my music. There’s so much pain I’m dealing with and I hope at Least something good can come from it if I can make good music from it.

How would you describe your style of getting music out? A bootcamp or go with the flow?

Definitely a bit of both. It can’t be forced and it has to come from the heart but also once it’s recorded there’s so much that goes into making the music and production that I like to be there for.

Leave us with any additional thoughts you’d like to share!

I really appreciate anyone listening to my music and I can’t wait to release more music soon.
