Omeretta Shares Her Opinion On Cancel Culture On Twitter

All week everyone has been talking about cancel culture after DaBaby made disparaging remarks about the LGBTQ community during his performance at Rolling Loud in Miami Gardens. Last weekend, the ‘Bop’ rapper said, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS…any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that make you die in 2, 3 weeks, put your cell phone light in the air.” He continued saying, “Fellas, if you ain’t sucking no d**k in the parking lot, put your cell phone light in the air.”

As folks continue to talk about his actions, ‘Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta’ newcomer, Omeretta, decided to share her two cents about Black people and brands getting canceled. “I really hate how quick and easy Black people/brands “get canceled” over wrongdoings, but all these racist brands/people can show how much they hate us, and we fake boycott for two weeks then be back at it…. Ion like that,” she tweeted.

She followed up by saying that she was not talking about DaBaby in particular but made it clear that he was wrong for his comments. Omeretta explained that she was observing how this world works, which she said was very interesting. In the midst of her sharing her opinion, she took the time to respond to a Twitter user who called her out for creating a pattern of defending trash men because they’re Black. The user further claimed that the men Omeretta supports harm the Black community. Omeretta quickly clapped back and denied the Twitter user’s claims by telling her to be quiet.

Some of the roommates did agree with Omeretta about cancel culture. They brought up the Gucci boycott that was short-lived in 2019 after they received backlash over a sweater that depicted blackface was released.
