Rising country talent Lily Rose knows a thing or two about late nights, good times and music — but when it comes to love, there’s always more to learn.
With her new track, “Know My Way Around,” she captures the bold and buzzy feeling of meeting someone new, and instantly wanting to know everything there is to know.
Featuring a grooving country-pop sound with crisp beats and a top-shelf vocal blend, the intoxicating track is all about falling head over heels — and loving every second of it. The Atlanta native and breakout singer-songwriter co-wrote the track with Avenue Beat’s Savana Santos and Julian Bunetta, working from a flash of inspiration, then gave it a dose of worldly barstool romance that goes down smooth every time. But even a TikTok teaser racked up nearly 2 Million views in June, it wasn’t complete until hit-making producer Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen) came on board, and sealed the deal.
“When the phrase ‘know my way around’ popped into my head at a video shoot, I immediately wrote it down,” Rose tells Sounds Like Nashville. “I took it into the writing room that same week and Julian Bunetta, Savana Santos and we wrote it from the perspective of the first time I met my girlfriend, Daira. There’s just something about the chorus and beat that keeps me playing this song on repeat like it’s my first time hearing it!”
“But ever since you walked in / Only thing that I’ve been thinking ’bout is my next move / Then we got to talkin’ / Told me that you’re single / Baby, that’s some damn good news / Yeah, the night’s still young / And I got nothin’ else to do / Except maybe catch a buzz / Maybe fall in love / Baby, you can choose / I just wanna know my way around you,” goes the chorus.
A relative newcomer to the country mainstream, Lily Rose broke out with the social-media success of “Villian” last year, which made it’s country radio debut earlier in 2021. She’s also released new songs “Overnight Sensation” and “Remind Me of You,” and will tour this fall on Chris Lane’s Fill Them Boots trek this fall, along with some summer festival dates.
