The new collaboration between Florida Georgia Line and Nelly has taken on a patriotic and athletic twist thanks to late night television host Jimmy Fallon.
In honor of the start of the Tokyo 2020 Games, the Tonight Show host and Tariq Trotter, a member of his band from the show, changed out the words to “Lil Bit” to represent Team USA during its Olympic endeavor.
“It’s time to represent your country / no matter where you’re from / waking up at 2 a.m. to watch a little badminton / get your soccer socks on / we’re playing football / pour yourself some Wheaties / time to win it all / This Olympics,” the two jokingly sing in the live-action skit.
The hilarious rendition covers several sports featured at the Games, from golf to synchronized swimming to fencing. It caught the attention of the country duo, who reposted the video to their Instagram Story, and a round of applause by Tyler Hubbard himself.
“This made my day. Y’all CRUSHED it @jimmyfallon on @blackthought,” he wrote on his shared Instagram post.
While this version of “Lil Bit” is not one of the official Olympics songs to represent the international sporting event, country music still made its representation in the form of Keith Urban performing a few verses of the song, “Imagine,” during the Opening Ceremony. He represented the Oceania region, as Urban hails from Australia.
Fans can see FGL perform “Lil Bit” and other tracks live on the duo’s upcoming I Love My Country Tour, which kicks off in Atlanta on September 24.
