Tanya Tucker Recovering From Emergency Hip Surgery

Tanya Tucker shared with fans this week that she recently had to undergo emergency surgery on her hip due to a fracture. The singer shared the update on Twitter on July 15, adding that the surgery went as planned and she’s currently recovering.

“Hey Loves, My hip has been giving me hell for awhile now & the docs discovered a hip fracture,” she wrote. “I had to have surgery right away. The operation went well & I’m on track for a speedy recovery. I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks… I LOVE y’all & a bad hip can’t keep me down!”

The 62-year-old singer did not share how long she will be will recovering, but she did cancel the rest of her July concerts in Twin Lakes, WI and Bayfield, WI. Tucker is still set to headline the CMT Next Women of Country: Tanya Tucker’s Bring My Flowers Now Tour, which kicks off August 6 in Kansas City, MO. The tour features more than 35 dates and female openers such as Erin Enderlin, Walker County and Aubrie Sellers. On September 11 & 12, Tucker is set to play back-to-back shows at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO with Brandi Carlile. Many of the shows on her Bring My Flowers Tour are rescheduled dates that were postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“We’ve all been through hell and back the past year, so I can’t wait to get back out there and perform! It’s been too damn long,” Tucker said in the tour announcement earlier this summer.

Tucker isn’t the only country icon dealing with a hefty recovery. Mark Chesnutt also recently shared that he will have to undergo back surgery after having issues for quite some time.

“I’ve been suffering with this for a very long time, and postponed as long as I could,” he shared. “When the doctor says: ‘You have no choice,’ you have no choice!”

Chesnutt’s recovery will take approximately nine to ten weeks.
