Dustin Lynch Drops ‘Not Every Cowboy’ and ‘Pasadena’

It’s two-for-one Friday and country hit maker Dustin Lynch is here for it. The Tennessee talent has dropped not one, but two fresh tracks, sharing “Not Every Cowboy” and “Pasadena.”

Arriving today (July 16) after days of teasing on social media, the twin tracks give fans twice as much new music to enjoy, and each one is something very different.

Starting with the classic, windblown-Western style of “Not Every Cowboy,” Lynch aims to shake off the perception that a cowboy always rides solo. His romantic message of devotion is matched by the cowboy-hatted star’s tender vocal, with Lynch hoping to convince his girl that he’s tamed his wild-stallion ways. It was written by Casey Brown, Parker Welling, Conner Smith, and Heather Morgan.

Meanwhile, “Pasadena” lands on the other end of the emotional spectrum, showcasing the sunshine-country anthem of a guy reliving memories of a special summer fling. Like many stories about the one who got away, Lynch can’t forget a former flame out of his head — it burned too hot and too short. But his memory is also wrapped up with visions of the California getaway where their hookup happened. Lynch co-wrote this one with Jeff Hyde and Ryan Tyndell, and its blue-sky sound helps bring the image to life.

Both are produced by chart topper Zach Crowell, and Lynch says they already feel like instant classics.

“‘Not Every Cowboy’ and ‘Pasadena’ are just about that timeless, authentic, American cowboy love story. I’m very proud of how these songs captured that emotion in such a classic way,” he explains. “They felt special the day we created them and I’m so excited that they’re now out where everyone can enjoy.”

Dustin Lynch also showed off his new music with a pair of videos, and the double shot of new music is beginning to look like a trend. “Thinking ‘Bout You (feat. MacKenzie Porter)” arrived earlier this summer and is working its way up the country radio charts, and it came out at the same time as “Tequila On A Boat (feat. Chris Lane),” which has also scored him some buzz.

They all follow his 2020 album, Tullahoma, which featured the back-to-back Number Ones, “Ridin’ Roads” and “Good Girl.” Lynch is currently back on the road, with a wide array of tour dates scheduled through the fall.
