Drew Parker Shares Life Lesson He Wants To Impart To Daughter

Drew Parker has a lot to celebrate over the past year. While the pandemic has kept him off the road, Parker’s got some silver linings out of it.

The country newcomer has achieved two Number One songs as a songwriter (Jake Owen’s “Homemade” and Luke Combs’ “Forever After All”), dropped his EP While You’re Gone, signed with Warner Music Nashville, and became a father for the first time.

On March 24, 2020, Parker and his wife Mallory welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Harley Greer Parker. While the rising artist has missed playing out on the road, he says that being home with his daughter has been a blessing.

“I was supposed to be gone a lot last year playing shows, but the silver lining was [that] I got to be home and spend time with my little girl and watch her grow up over the first year of her life,” Parker reflects in a recent interview with Sounds Like Nashville.

As a brand new dad, Parker also shared one important life lesson he hopes to pass down to his daughter—which is to chase down her dreams courageously, just like her daddy.

“I want my little girl to look at me and know that I chase my dream and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it,” the “While You’re Gone” singer says.

“I truly believe that anything is possible if it’s something you really, really want to do. You just have to work for it. That’s something I want to teach and show her. I’ve never been the guy that would ask something of somebody if I wouldn’t do it myself.”

Parker was also recently featured as one of the artists country fans have to “Get To Know.” To find out more about the Georgia native’s story, EP and his debut single “While You’re Gone,” click HERE.
