Diddy Is Singlehandedly Bringing Back Black-Tie Dressing

Paras Griffin

Diddy

Well, you had to imagine that if anyone was going to shake us out of our late-pandemic style rut and back into highest-end formalwear, Diddy would be a pretty safe bet. And indeed he was, rocking up to Quality Control label head Pierre “Pee” Thomas’s birthday party in Atlanta in a gleaming white tux. The silhouette is just right, the shoes perfectly shined, the bowtie charmingly oversized and properly drapey. He looks like he’s about to have a really good night, and nowhere in the vicinity of a Zoom screen. We’re not saying to break out your tux for your first in-person game night in a year and half. But we’re not not saying that, either.

James Harden

In games, Harden can often look a little…grumpy. What a joy, then, to see him dressing with some real fun in his heart.

David Nemic

Blake Griffin

Harden’s Brooklyn teammate dressed a little bit like a fashioned-up take on a circa 2004 pop-punk frontman…and we loved it.

G-Eazy

Basically required wearing for trawling the Sunset strip.

Joe Murphy

Jordan Clarkson

Perhaps the NBA’s lowest-key style god just keeps tossing out hits.

MEGA

Drake

Some nightclub outings are just so epic that they require nothing short of advanced technical outerwear.

Andrew D. Bernstein

LeBron James

His team’s exit against the Phoenix Suns makes this the final LeBron fit of the 2020-21 season. You had a great run, LBJ.

Joe Murphy

Jaren Jackson, Jr.

Call it a summertime cheat code: when you’re nearly seven feet tall, every pair of shorts looks like a pair of five-inch Baggies.

Nathaniel S. Butler

Jabari Parker

Exactly the way we want to wear a suit right now: with loafers, contrasting socks, and a shirt that’s having plenty of fun.

Adam Pantozzi

Devin Booker

One of the NBA’s most exciting young dressers is moving on to the second round. We’re eager to see what he cooks up for the tunnel.
