Andrew Jannakos Officially Adopts Wife’s Son

Country singer and The Voice alum Andew Jannakos is officially a dad to his wife’s 5-year-old son, Brenson. Jannokos met his future wife Kat and her son in 2018, which is a day he says changed his life.

“I was lost for a lot of my life and I didn’t know what I wanted to do until I met my wife and my son,” Jannokos told E! News. “They are the ones that kind of blossomed me into the man I am today. It’s been a pretty crazy journey.”

Andrew and Kat were married in September 2020, and Jannokos immediately took on the father role, which is something he wasn’t sure he’d ever do. Jannokos started the process of officially adopting Brenson in February 2021, and on May 18, he officially became Brenson’s father.

“My son has been the light at the end of the tunnel since I met him,” he said. “I didn’t even think I wanted kids and then I met this little boy and he just stopped everything from spinning. He just settled it. It did not take long for him to steal my heart.”

Not only does Jannokos bring something special to Brenson’s life, but the singer says his wife and son “saved” his life.

“Without a doubt, he and my wife 110% saved my life,” he said. “I don’t know where I would be or what I would be doing if I didn’t have him.”

Jannokos also announced the news on Twitter, where we wrote a sweet message to his son.

“I was so lost before I met you bubba, you’ve made me want to be the best person I can possibly be. And you’ll never know how much that alone means to me, but you are so much more than that,” he wrote.

Andrew Jannakos first rose to prominence by competing on Season 16 of The Voice in 2019 on Adam Levine’s team. After The Voice, Jannokos released independent songs “Living On Love” and “Southern Skies.” In July 2020, his song “Gone Too Soon” went viral on TikTok and led to a record deal with Sony Music Nashville. The singer is currently readying his new EP, Gone Too Soon, which will be released June 4.
