Multi-platinum country recording artist Chris Lane is back with his first release of the year and brand new single, “Fill Them Boots.”
The up-tempo love song finds Lane slowly but surely making his way to a girl’s heart just as she is about to call it quits on her current unhealthy relationship. He sets up various proposals to win his potential belle over in the verses, before endearingly inviting her “to move on over” in the chorus, adding reassuringly that he can “fill them boots” if given the chance.
“I don’t know him from Adam / But I’m kinda mad at him / For the way he did you / Yeah I can fill them boots / If you want me to,” Lane sings on the vibrant tune over an infectious summery country-pop production.
“I wrote ‘Fill Them Boots’ with three of my favorite songwriters in town, [Mark Trussell, Josh Miller and fellow Big Loud Records label mate, ERNEST],” shares Lane. “I had the idea for a long time, and I’m incredibly proud of the way it turned out. It makes me think of how my wife and I first met, so I hope it’s a song people can easily relate to as well. I can’t wait to play it live and hear y’all sing it!”
Directed by Justin Clough, the accompanying video brings the earnest story by capturing the very essence of what Lane sings about in the song. Filmed on the white sand beaches of Madeira and St. Petersburg, Florida, the visual follows the initially-single guy’s romantic pursuit, before closing with a scene of the couple on a dinner date, with the newly-attached man clad in a “Lane’s Lawn Care” tee – a symbolic nod to Lane’s actual former summer job.
“Fill Them Boots” serves as the first preview of Lane’s upcoming chapter of new music. It follows his third career No. 1 single, “Big Big Plans” as well as previous hits “I Don’t Know About You,” “Take Back Home Girl” featuring Tori Kelly and “Fix.”
