Carly Pearce Hints At Continuing ’29’ Era

In February of this year, Carly Pearce released her seven-song project, 29, which features her current single, “Next Girl,” as well as “Should’ve Known Better,” “29” and “Show Me Around,” among others. The project was released to much acclaim thanks to Pearce’s honest and introspective songwriting, and from hints dropped by the singer this past week, it looks like the 29 album era may continue.

The first hint came in the form of an social media photo showing Pearce in the recording booth (wearing a Dolly Parton shirt, of course). She coupled the photo with a cryptic caption that instantly got fans excited.

“I’ve realized over the last few weeks that I wasn’t entirely finished writing my 29 chapter…” she wrote.

Then, in a conversation with KMLE Country 107.9’s Gunner & Cheyenne this week, she dropped yet another hint that she’s working on a follow up for 29. When asked by host Gunner if she’s working her next album, she said, “I mean, I don’t know that ‘29’ is over.”

She then clarified her comment a bit when asked by the radio hosts, saying, “It’s still ‘29’ but it’ll have another…yea…maybe?”

While her comments were not entirely clear, it looks like Pearce is working on new music that will follow 29. The radio hosts also chatted with Pearce about the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 18, where she took home her first awards for Music Event of the Year and Single of the Year for “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice. Pearce called the night “surreal” and told the hosts the awards were “worth the wait.”
