Roommates, for the last few weeks, Lil Nas X has continued to find himself at the center of controversy regarding his music and his shoes (that have since been pulled)—but now his personal life is under scrutiny, specifically his relationship with his mother. Following the release of a viral video that showed Lil Nas X’s mother on a local Atlanta street corner presumably asking for money and/or food, many were wondering why he isn’t helping her and he offered an explanation on social media.
If you’re a fan of Lil Nas X, then you know that after making music, his next favorite thing seems to be trolling on the Internet—as that is the place where he readily addresses any gossip he’s involved in. He continued that method by taking to Twitter to slam those who questioned why he hasn’t offered financial support to his mother, who appeared to by living on the street in Atlanta.
He responded to his critics, writing:
“I hate speaking on my personal life, but y’all n***as don’t know how many nights I’ve cried myself to sleep feeling guilty because nothing I tried would help my mom. Paint me as the bad guy all you want but at the end of the day you don’t know me outside of this internet s**t.”
Meanwhile, as we previously reported, earlier this week, Lil Nas X and his record label Columbia Records took to social media to allege that his controversial song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” was being pulled from streaming services.
However, fast forward to the present, and the song still remains, but he’s convinced that it may not be there for long.
