Lauren Alaina may be best known as the Georgia-born talent behind country tunes like her current “Getting Over Him” duet with Jon Pardi. But soon she’ll take on a very different role — a starring one.
Speaking with Audacy’s Rob + Holly for a recent interview, the hit maker revealed that she’s appearing in upcoming movie. She’s apparently not allowed to offer any details of the project — but some slipped out anyway.
“Not really… I need to stop bringing that up,” she said when asked if she could talk about the film. She’s “not allowed to spill any deets,” she went on, but she is “the lead actress in it,” and filming is set to begin in Canada very soon.
It might seem like a change of pace for Alaina, but she’s actually got plenty of on-screen experience. She was famously first discovered as a teenage singer on American Idol (alongside her good friend, Scotty McCreery). And there was the 2017 movie adaptation of her “Road Less Traveled” hit, which found her name at the top of the cast list. But we’ll have to wait to find out what this new project is all about.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lauren Alaina chatted about her recent recovery from COVID-19, and another big name collaboration — her ACM nominated chart topper “One Beer” with Hardy and Devin Dawson.
