Roommates, in just a few months the highly-anticipated ninth installment of the incredibly popular “Fast & Furious” franchise will be hitting theaters—and a new full-length trailer was just released to get fans excited. In the nearly 4-minute trailer, the familiar faces of the “Fast & Furious” have all returned for another adventurous outing, including Vin Diesel, Tyrese and Ludacris.
If you’re questioning what this chapter in the “Fast & Furious” universe will be about, the newly released trailer has the answers. Vin Diesel’s brother, played by John Cena, will face off against him and the rest of the crew and prove to be a major villain. Also joining the franchise for the first time are Academy Award winners Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
You may recall that “Fast & Furious 9,” also known as “F9,” was originally set to hit theaters on May 22nd, 2020, but its release date has been shifted various times due to the COVID-19 pandemic—and the fact that the film’s stars desperately wanted fans to experience it inside of a movie theater inside of streaming at home.
The film will now premiere in U.S. theaters on June 25th, making it the first major blockbuster this year. As for the lingering question on if this is the final “Fast & Furious” film in the franchise, the answer is no, as plans for a 10th and 11th movie are also in the works.
