Kelsea Ballerini and frequent songwriting collaborators Nicolle Galyon and Jimmy Robbins spent the weekend at a picturesque spot in Columbia, TN where they wrote songs for Ballerini’s next album. Ballerini posted a series of photos from the weekend showing the trio working, but also enjoying their time by drinking wine, playing dominoes and spending time outside.
“songs, dominos, wine,” Ballerini wrote.
Ballerini also posted a photo the three of them smiling and sitting outdoors in front of a white house. Robbin’s reposted that snap, writing, “Wrote so many songs with my friends in an awesome house in the woods all weekend and it looks like we started a band in this picture.”
Songwriter Nicolle Galyon also took to Instagram to share various photos from the weekend, revealing that they stayed at a place called Magnolia Acres and they wrote six songs for Ballerini’s new project.
“KB4 X MAGNOLIA ACRES —— 3 friends. 6 new songs. 44 hours. but we’ll never tell how many bottles of wine,” Galyon wrote alongside a photo of Ballerini drinking wine while Robbins plays piano.
Galyon also posted the photo of the three songwriters, captioning, “been song catching with these two for years now — and somehow it continues to get better. my brain is fried, my ears are shot, my eyes are puffy, my heart is full & my life is blessed.”
Ballerini, Galyon and Robbins wrote much of Ballerini’s 2020 album, kelsea, including the lead single, “Homecoming Queen.” The singer reimagined the kelsea album with the release of ballerini later that year. Galyon and Robbins also have writing credits on the singer’s sophomore album, Unapologetically.
