Kid Cudi Speaks About The Dress He Wore On The Recent Episode Of ‘SNL’ Says It Was To Show Love To The Late Kurt Cobain

When it comes to honoring someone who passed away, it can be done in many ways, and while the intention for most seems to be pure, the folks on the innanet always seem to have a difference in opinion. Last night, Kid Cudi had some folks shook by wearing a floral dress during his performance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ while performing ‘Sad People.’ Instead of the focus being on his musical abilities, people focused on his attire instead.

Cudi who walks to the beat of his own drum, had several people wondering what the reason behind wearing the dress was. Today he decided to share a few tweets as to why he chose last night’s look. Cudi revealed that the dress was created by Virgil Abloh, CEO of the fashion brand ‘Off-White,’ and that the look was dedicated to the late Kurt Cobain from Nirvana. This tribute came as the anniversary of Kurt’s death just passed. Some fans were familiar with Kurt wearing a floral dress on a cover of the former British magazine ‘The Face’ in 1994, which is the same year he passed away at his home in Seattle.

Cudi tweeted, “Virgil designed this dress for me. I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt with a floral print sundress and this man and made a masterpiece. Thank you, Virgil. You’re a fu****g genius!! Love you, man, we did it!!!” The news didn’t stop there. Cudi also revealed that the two would be doing a fashion collaboration. He tweeted, “I’m doing a collection with Off-White, and the dress will be included!!”

In addition to his tweets, Cudi also retweeted fans who showed him love for honoring Kurt. One of the tweets read,” He curtsied! At the end of his fu***ng set,  @KidCudi fu***ng curtsied in his dress! I love him so much.”
